Caliche is a calcium carbonate hardpan layer found 6–24 inches below the surface throughout the High Desert. It’s rock-hard, impermeable, and causes drainage failure, root death, and cracked hardscaping when not addressed. Monarch crews probe caliche depth before every project, excavate to the required depth, and install proper drainage. Contractors unfamiliar with High Desert conditions often skip this step, leading to failures within 2-3 years.
Yes. We’re based in Hesperia and serve all seven High Desert cities as our primary market. We also serve the Inland Empire including Riverside, Corona, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, and more.
Patio covers over 200 sq ft typically require a building permit in the High Desert. Retaining walls over 4 feet in exposed height require engineered plans and a permit. We handle permit applications as part of our project scope. CSLB license #957605.
California law (AB 1164) prohibits HOAs from banning water-efficient landscaping including artificial turf, but HOAs can regulate appearance. Most High Desert HOAs (Spring Valley Lake, Eagle Ranch) have approved product lists. We work with your CC&Rs before installation.
Most residential projects take 3–10 business days. A basic turf or rockscape runs 3–5 days. A full backyard with hardscaping and patio cover runs 7–14 days. Timeline depends on permit processing (1–4 weeks if required), caliche depth, and scope. We provide a detailed schedule before work begins.
